Carrying the torch for Light for the World
In our efforts to combat blindness in any form, anywhere in the world, ThromboGenics has partnered up with the Belgian branch of ‘Light for the World’. Dedicated to fighting eye disease and its consequences in Africa, this European NGO makes a difference where it matters most.
Our visible support
As one of the initiative’s most avid fans, ThromboGenics is happy to offer support in every way possible. In 2014, for example, a substantial donation was used to help Comprehensive Community Based Rehabilitation in Tanzania (CCBRT), Tanzania’s largest disability hospital, provide better care for people with visual impairments.
In 2012, around 73,787 consultations and 7,750 surgeries—500 of which on children—took place at CCBRT’s eye department. More than half of those were sight-saving interventions. Furthermore, the organization provides visually impaired children with visual aids and training.
